7 Free Interior Design Tools
Not all of us are interior designers but with a wealth of resources and information on the internet today we can create some stunning rooms to fit our style and personality without the need to hire an expensive designer. Recently DIY has been declining but we think many of us can still try our hand at decorating our own homes because a labour of love will always be more rewarding then getting someone else to do it for you. We have put together some of our favourite free tools for you to use when decorating your home. Whether that's simply a lick of paint on the wall or a full refurb.
Adobe Colour Wheel- Helps Pick Colour Pallets

1.Pictaculous

This Color pallet generator lets you upload an image to the site where the app will pick out the key colour details in the photo or picture. This is a really great tool if you have a specific piece of art work or an item which you would love to use as a basis for a room design. Simply snap a picture of it and upload to the site to create a simple pallet to use in your design

2. Adobe Colour Wheel

Use this colour wheel to create a vast array of pallets from complementary and contrasting, shades and monochromatic or even your own custom look. This is a great tool not just for finding the right tones but also to explore colours you may not have thought to use. Like Pictaculous you can also create a pallet from an image.
Homestyler Room builder- Great To Visualise Room Layout

3.Room Styler

This is a really great beginners tool to help you plan a room layout. It's super simple and easy to use but it has lots of options so you can very accurately populate your room. It has a handy manual plus tips from other users on it's site. You do not need any technical knowledge to recreate your vision on this program

4. Homestyler

This tool is similar to the room styler but with even more options. It is once again easy to use but you can develop your creation a bit more with a more accurate 3D image of the room. Registration is simple and you can get creating your dream home in minutes. There are lots of sharing features so you can easy show your designs to others and get their opinions on your ideas.
Small Blue Printer Garden Planner

5.Garden Planner

Your home decoration shouldn't just end at the front door. If you are lucky enough to have a garden or even a small patio it's a good idea to show it abit of attention too. Having a pretty garden to come back to after a long day can make all the difference when your walking up the garden path. This basic garden planner from Small Blue Printer can help you create a beautiful garden with a simple layout. The graphics are a little rudimentary but this planner can be really useful to plan out not only the look of your garden but for seed and bulb planting in the future. Even though its look is dated it is a really easy and simple tool to use.
Niice Mood boards

6. Pinterest

It's no secret that we are a fan of pinterest here at Barker's. It's a great place to collect your favourite products, styles and ideas as well as an amazing place to be inspired by new finds. If your not familiar with Pinterest, think of it as an online mood board. You can create separate boards for different themes to keep your ideas organised and you can follow other peoples boards if you love their style true. We have several Pinterest boards on Interior Design but you can also find lots of other inspiration too, from recipes and dressses, DIY crafts to holiday destinations. Take a look.

7.Niice

Niice is another mood board type website which is great for creating a more cohesive theme for your room ideas. The layout means you can get a better grasp of your colour pallet and textures that you love without the comments which are visible on Pinterest. This is a really unique way to create a room inspiration collection and it's design centric subscribers mean that every photograph you find is of the best quality.

These are some of our favourite design tools but there is a huge amount of resources on the internet for you to utilise. If you have any other favourite design tools we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch on:
